KOTA KINABALU: Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for Luyang Chan Loong Wei said now it is up to the people to choose their representative to best serve them.

“We have been campaigning for two weeks, and now we return the choice to the hands of the people, and we hope for the best result for our candidates and our party component partners,” said Chan.

“That is all. The campaign period is over, so I do not want to comment on anything,” said Chan.

After casting his ballot, Chan said he had already visited four polling stations including at the Kota Kinabalu High School where PH candidate for Likas Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe cast his ballot.

Earlier he went to Foochow Association Building where he observed there was a long queue due to only one counter being opened.

He advised the workers to ease the congestion and it was immediately settled by adding lines so people do not have to wait outside as the weather is sunny and hot.

Despite the minor hiccup, he observed that the voting process was quick. It is just the lane checking that sometimes causes delays.

Chan, who is debuting in the 17th Sabah polls, is involved in a five-cornered fight.

The Sabah Dapsy Chief replaced Sabah DAP Chief Phoong who had moved to Likas after serving two terms in Luyang.
