KOTA KINABALU: B.Grimm Power reaffirms its commitment to Sabah by engaging with local communities to build long-term partnerships that promote inclusive growth and sustainable energy solutions.
“We are delighted to be part of this community. With our competence and our DNA of doing business with compassion, we always think about how we can contribute and support,” said Nopadej Karnasuta, B.Grimm Power’s President of Thailand Malaysia Business and Energy and Industrial Solutions Business.
He said the company wants to work with local communities through initiatives such as training programmes and prioritising local employment opportunities as well as development of services, that enables development of Sabah and shared prosperity.
“We always look at how we can help each other grow sustainably, ensuring we can live and thrive together in the long run,” he said.
Nopadej said B.Grimm Power brings decades of expertise in energy systems and services, aiming to deliver reliable and high-quality power while promoting clean and green energy sources — including solar, wind, hydro, pumped hydro energy storage (PHES), battery storage & grid expertise — to ensure consistent 24/7 energy security for Sabah.
“For gas-fired power, it is cleaner than coal or diesel and serves as a transitional fuel towards more sustainable and green energy in the future. At the same time, we were the first company in South East Asia to have the capability of integrating it with ammonia and hydrogen to reduce greenhouse gas emissions,” he said.
He stressed that B.Grimm’s vision goes beyond power supply to cover community needs such as education, livelihood, arts & culture, and environment.
“One of our core values is the partnership spirit. We aim to be a localised Sabah company while maintaining international standards, doing good for the community, society, and nature” he said.
Nopadej said energy security and grid stability remain essential for every country and state.
“We hope to contribute to Sabah’s grid stability and energy security by developing a reliable transmission and distribution system, supported by a mix of natural resources,” he said.
He noted that Chairman Harald Link has long envisioned contributing to Malaysia, including Sabah, under the company’s “GreenLeap – Global and Green” strategy.
“We always think about how to support society, whether through tree planting, supporting plantations, education, or cultural initiatives. We start with the needs of Sabah and then see what we can deliver with our expertise in energy,” he said.
Nopadej added that B.Grimm has been in discussions with the Sabah government, local authorities, and communities to identify essential needs both economically and environmentally.
“This is how we can co-create value with Sabah, balancing economic development with nature conservation,” he said.
“In the long term, livelihood, education, and cultural diversity are also part of B.Grimm’s spirit. We want to ensure we can be true local partners living together sustainably,” he added.
